Drive-thru drop-off is provided to residential consumers every Tuesday from 10am-noon. This is a community outreach program sponsored by the founding non-profit, Challenge Enterprise of North Florida, Inc.

Community Collection Days
Community Collection Days are held on select Saturdays
8-12pm
They are held at different locations during the year to collect household hazardous wastes, waste tires, and obsolete electronics from residential sources. Residents may bring in up to 10 tires per household free of charge. Dates & locations are advertised on GTV, radio, newspapers, this website, and county annexes and libraries.

Annual Coastal Clean-Up
Every 3rd Saturday in September
Join others in cleaning up our beaches and waterways every 3rd Saturday in September. This world-wide effort not only helps to clean the debris but also removes many dangers to both people and wildlife. Six-pack holders, fishing line and nets, strapping bands, straws, balloons and plastic bags all have a very negative affect on animals in the sea and can be deadly.

St. Johns County Solid Waste is hosting a Super Community Collection Event for residents to safely dispose of household hazardous waste, electronics, and tires (limit 10 per household) free of charge. Items such as paint, motor oil, gasoline, fluorescent bulbs, wax, car and appliance batteries, pesticides, obsolete electronics such as monitors, modems, desk phones, and stereos, and automobile and light truck tires will be accepted. Items that will not be accepted include microwave ovens, large appliances, yard debris, household garbage, construction debris, and commercial materials. Acceptable items include personal documents, white or colored papers, stapled or paper-clipped documents and file folders and file hangers. Three-ring binders, cardboard and items generated by commercial activities will not be accepted.
According to Advanced Disposal, reasons to participate in such an event include minimizing the potential for loss of confidential documents, reducing the risk of identity theft, eliminating the potential for misuse of sensitive information and more.
